Meet Dr Cain - CSC’s Ai Navigator
AI is changing the game…and how to manage professional’s competence.
Artificial Intelligence is changing the world of profession regulation. In some cases, these changes are making core responsibilities of regulators easier, while at the same improving the regulatory processes overall.
One clear example involves regulators’ Quality Assurance (or Continuing Competence) obligations. All regulators require registrants to undertake activities to assure their on-going competence development. These activities are meant to ensure that registrants at least maintain, but more often enhance their ability to practice through professional development and feedback mechanisms.
A key challenge for regulators is to ensure their QA or continuing competence program is having the intended impact on competence and managing compliance with the program. This takes time and resources. Even if only 10% of registrant submissions were followed up on by the regulator, managing, auditing, and providing feedback on submissions is a significant workload.
Enter AI.
And we at the CSC Collab have carefully and intentionally embedded artificial intelligence technology into our CSC Portal to make the regulator’s job easier and less resource intensive.
How, you may ask?
First, using AI, efficient oversight of each registrant submission is enabled. Second, a regulator can define specific criteria (risk factors or indicators) the AI should be on the lookout for when monitoring registrant submissions. All without human intervention.
In addition - the AI is trained to proactively provide feedback to registrants about how well their submissions align with program (or the regulator’s) QA requirements. Further, and equally important, the AI-enabled functionality also provides feedback to registrants to make their professional plans and activities better: clearer, better aligned, more effective.
AI is changing the game for regulators and their quality assurance programming. The CSC Collab is leading the way.
